Third in the series of sohbets on the night of Mevlid for Haji Fuat Rabbani (qas). Sayiddina Muhammad (saws) is the Prophet of the end times. There are many forces working against Islam in ahir zaman, even though there are many Muslims, and new beautiful masjids. The lifestyle is lost. But everything is in the hands of Awliya (friends of ALLAH swt). The kingdom of Prophet Isa (as) is building, and Sayiddna Mehdi (as) is coming to bring down tyranny.
Sheykh Efendi is saying that the month of Safar is coming soon, a very dangerous month with terrible events. Believers must be especially aware of how they may go out from this world. Don’t count on your worldly position to save you. Did you earn your ahirat today by remembering to do everything for the sake of ALLAH swt? Your shehadat is the only thing that can save you, not doctors, not 911. If you are a believer, every day must be better for your ahirat.
Disobedience is happening at all levels of society from government to family relationships. People have forgotten the reason for their creation, understanding everything through the ego, understanding wrong. Correct obedience is to the ones who are obeying ALLAH swt and His Prophet saws, not to the ones who try to stop you from the way of ALLAH and His Prophet.
We came from ALLAH (jalla jalaluhu), and we will return to Him (inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un). No one is going to escape. Is it today? Did you discover the reason for your creation? What did you put in your book for Ahirat? Understand what Şeyh Mevlana means by ordering murids not to be out after maghrib.
Sheykh Efendi is saying that during Ramadan, shaytan is in chains. So you cannot blame shaytan for your wrongdoings. It is the ego declaring itself. Look carefully at your intention before taking action or speaking. Fasting in this month should help us become better servants. When you start correcting yourself, everything around you is going to be correct. Today’s people are trying to correct the other ones. Correct yourself first. Tarikat teaches you to rise from the lower self to higher stations.
Today’s people are not even remembering ALLAH swt when they are in sejde. They are preoccupied with love of the world (dunya) – car, bank account, children, whatever. People are fearing death. But If you put love of ahirat in your heart, you have no worries. Dunya will run after you. Be aware of the state you are in when making salat, that ALLAH swt is watching you, and that Azrael (Angel of Death) is very near.
Sheykh Efendi also tells us the story of Namrud and Ibrahim (aleyhis salam) — that Namrud declared lordship to Allah and was defeated by a tiny, crippled mosquito. Today’s 21st century people, who don’t even have any power, are acting and trying to live like Namrud, declaring lordship to Allah. We must wake up!
Sheykh Efendi is saying to be obedient to the ones who give you news from ahirat (eternity). Have fear from ALLAH swt. Live as ALLAH and His Prophet want – not as your ego wants. Holy Prophet saws said that ALLAH is going to lift the haybet from Muslims, so their enemies will finish them – because the Muslims fell in love with dunya and came to hate death.
Sheykh Efendi is saying that ALLAH swt ordered us to drop everything worldly to come to Jummah, because if you are busy with the service of your Lord, the world will run after you. The invitation is to go back to paradise. Use your breath wisely while you live so you will go out of this world through the right door. Be merciful to yourself. It’s never too late to understand what ALLAH swt wants from you. Learn from being with the saliheen (righteous ones).
Sheykh Abdul Kerim Efendi is saying we have been given the highest title- being human. Since our form is human, our spirit and our actions must be human. Through patience and prayers, you can ask help from your Lord. Patience matters in the first moments of a test- not after you get used to the situation. Have patience through the difficulties of life, while you are longing for ahirat (hereafter), not for dunya. In any situation that is happening, it is the will of ALLAH swt; if there is something wrong in it, it is the will of the ego- the road to the hell. The difficult road from dunya reaching to paradise is impossible to reach, except for those who ALLAH swt protects.
